StealthCon 2.0 - Melbourne

The con you have when you're not having a con.

StealthCon 2.0 was held in the Belgian Beer Café Eureka, Southbank, Melbourne, 31st March 2006, in a little secluded area off to the left.

Attendance was great, considering the size of the industry in this country, and the interest in mutual networking was very obvious with not only local attendees, but also people travelling from as far as Sydney, Shepparton and Adelaide just to meet up with like minded people. (Although I do think the Grand Prix was also a contributing factor, but that's another story.)

The mix of attendees was wide and ranging, from hard core SEOers, through Domain people, Directory publishers, to those on the learning curve. A number of Major Forum members were present, including Chris_D, Woz, anallawalla, AnthonyParsons, IAC, PhilB, David Garrett, GuyFromOz.

Ash brought along the crew from Melbourne IT, so it was good to see and talk with the upcoming generation (speaking in Internet years of course) of optimisers. But then there were established people there as well so the breadth of discussion was very evident.

All in all, the discussion flowed, the beer flowed, the discussion flowed, the beer flowed, well, what more can I say?

Some comments received after the event:-

  • I came from Sydney just for the event and for me it was well worth the trip. It was great to meet a bunch of like minded people and to learn a little from people more knowledgeable in the SEO space.

  • Good stuff.

A few choice moments:-

Need more Beer!

Ahhh, that's better!

Woz! Stop interrupting!

A Zen moment for sure.

Waddya mean Girl's aren't invited?!

Mmmmmm....

It was How Big?!?!?

Sorry, how much do I owe you?
